Legendary personality Kishore Kumar, born as Abhas Kumar Ganguly on August 4, 1929 was one of the greatest Indian film playback singers. He was not only a versatile singer but also gave his contribution to the film industry as an actor, lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenplay writer and scriptwriter!
The successful playback singer has sung not only for Bollywood Hindi songs but has lent his voice to songs in Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Oriya, and Urdu.
The multi faceted yodeling star Kishore Kumar is the most reputed personality India Cinema ever had; his songs are considered ever green and still have not lost its charm. His works ranged from classical to rock to disco. Although Kishore Kumar started acting in movies, he was not so interested in becoming an actor, rather was more interested in becoming a singer Kishore Kumar ventured into films along with singing. His first film appearance was in 1946 movie Shikari.

He died Oct 13, 1987 in Mumbai. Kishore Kumar’s reputation remains unabated even after his death.
