The first time I saw a device that could record a sound was in the early 70’s. It was just amazing to hear your own voice being played back to you. It was thrilling.
One of the earliest sounds to be recorded was this tune. It was called a phonautograph. It involved recording the voice on sheets of paper by a sound modulated stylus. The sound could only be recorded but not played back. It took all of today’s technology to play the sound back, in the year 2008.
The next step was gramaphone disks, followed by spool tape recorders, cassette tapes and now CD’s. Recording devices have also become so affordable, thanks to digital technology.
If we had to replicate the power of the equipment that we have in our Studio , it would have probably cost us nearly 100 times what we have had to spend to set it up, 20 years back. It would also have occupied 10 times the space.
However, what has not changed, then and now is the skill required to bring out a great recording. Agreed there are great software tools out there, but unless the engineer knows how to use them, it is of no use.
Our Studio has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. You don’t have to be intimidated by all the equipment that you see all around. We make sure you are comfortable and help you use that nervous energy into giving up your best performance.
